Enhanced Fault Ride-Through of Power Converters Using Hybrid Grid Synchronization

چکیده

Inaccurate phase-angle jump (PAJ) estimation of the grid voltage during faults is one major causes for poor fault ride-through (FRT) performance converters. To overcome this issue and make converter’s current controller robust, article proposes a hybrid synchronization transition technique. In concept, synchronous reference frame-based phase-locked loop (SRFPLL) method used normal operation switched to an arctangent-based faults. Simultaneously frequency arctangent derived frequency. A common method, which depends on error between two-phase techniques, proposed ensure smooth frequencies. The technique implemented using control three-phase source converter in SRF. both symmetrical asymmetrical along with FRT strategies tested real-time experiments. It observed that transition-based reduces loss synchronism duration. Additionally, it offers more robust compared SRFPLL over wide range sags PAJs.

Fault Ride Through Effects on Alternators Connected to the Grid

Traditionally, industrial countries have generated most of their electricity in large centralised facilities, such as fossil fuel (coal, gas), nuclear, large solar power plants or hydropower plants. Although these plants have excellent economies of scale, they usually transmit electricity over long distances and negatively affect the environment. More recently, a surge in the concerns over clim...

Dynamic Grid Support in Low Voltage Grids – Fault Ride-Through and Reactive Power/Voltage Support during Grid Disturbances

Faults in medium and high voltage grids lead to voltage sags in the low voltage level. Due to the voltage dip, distributed generators disconnect from the low voltage grid. Depending on the amount of disconnected generation, system stability could be compromised. With a dynamic grid support, distributed generators remain connected to the grid during faults, also called fault ride-through. Moreov...

Low Voltage Ride Through Enhancement Based on Improved Direct Power Control of DFIG under Unbalanced and Harmonically Distorted Grid Voltage

In the conventional structure of the wind turbines along with the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), the stator is directly connected to the power grid. Therefore, voltage changes in the grid result in severe transient conditions in the stator and rotor. In cases where the changes are severe, the generator will be disconnected from the grid and consequently the grid stability will be attenu...
